Noyce
31-year-old Robert Noyce filed his patent for the "Semiconductor Device and Lead Structure” in July 1959, a few months after Jack Kilby had independently filed a patent for another integrated circuit device.
Noyce was awarded his patent on 25 April 1961.
Kilby and Noyce are regarded as co-inventors of the integrated circuit (Kilby mentioned Noyce’s work numerous times in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech in 2000).
