What is this, an ancient DAAS artifact older than anything else in our archives?!

This wonderful picture was found in the historical Fairfax Photography archives, more specifically from the Canberra Times, where an extremely early rendition of the Doug Anthony All Stars performing was discovered!

Now if you look very closely, you’ll notice that bloke in the middle is not Paul McDermott. No you’re eyes aren’t playing tricks. McDermott was actually the second person to fill the shoes that once belonged to Robert Piper, who is shown above, and this image is really amazing considering I hadn’t before now seen any pictures of him in the trio (or with hair if you know what he looks like currently xD)
