LAS VEGAS — Peter Uihlein birdied five of the last seven holes for a 5-under 66 and a two-stroke lead Friday in the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.

Srilankan tail wag as they setup a target of 268 for Australia; Match evenly poised after Australia end day at 83-3 though Srilanka have a slight edge; Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb star in US PGA golf championship; Rogers Cup could have a Wawrinka-Djokovic finals and more..:-)

<p>Srilanka had to extend lead by atleast 30-40 runs after getting 196 runs lead at the end of day 4. Australia started in gerat fashion as they dismissed Mendis for 176. Lead was just 204 at that stage. Srilankan tail wagged which frustrated Smith and co no end. Herath made a very useful counter attacking 35. Srilanka were dismissed for 353. Australia needed 268 to win. When Mendis and Chandimal started 5th wicket stand, lead was zero. What a massive turnaround. During Indian tour of Srilanka, they did similar turnaround where Chandimal scored a brilliant hundred. Australia needed a good start but Srilanka gained initial advantage as Herath castled Warner. Good cameo from Warner was needed on such a wicket where scoring will get tougher once ball softens. Burns and Khwaja fought well to get AUstralia back. But both were dismissed in the space of ten overs as Sandakan and Perera got the better of them. Australia were reduced to 63-3 from 33-1. Smith and Voges played cautiously when bad light halted play. Australia need 185 runs with 7 wickets in hand. SMith, Voges and Marsh need to score the bulk. One good partnership at the start of fifth day is what Australia need.</p>

American Jimmy Walker had a brilliant run where he scored 65 and 66 to lead the scoreboard at 9 under. It is a par 70 course. Compatriot Robert Streb who had a 2 under 68 in first round came back to hit a stunning 63. Ut had 8 birdies and 1 bogey. He along with Jimmy ae coleaders after 2 days of US PGA championship.Argentine player Emiliano had a solid 66 and 67 to end at 7 under. Another player who made a big move was defending champion Jason Day. He followed 68 with a 65. He also is at 7 under. Martin Kaymer, Patrick Reed and Brooks Koepka were at 5 under. Only Martin and Jason have won majors in this list.Jordan Spieth had a disappointing 70 in first round but followed with a solid 67. He made 5 birdies in back nine. Adam Scot had a similar 2 round scoreline. Lee Westwood followed 69 with a 70. These 3 players need to make an early move on Saturday to get into contention on SUnday.Rory missed the cut . He had a shocking 74 in first round. Though he made a 69, he missed the cut by 1 stroke. He made bogey in last hole which would haunt him. Luke Donald also missed the cut.Anirban Lahiri also missed the cut after scoring 73 in both the rounds.</p>

<p>In Rigers cup, Wawrinks thrashed Anderson to reach SF .Wawrinka would Nishikori in SF. Nishikori had a tough battle but won in 3 tough sets against improving Dimitrov.Djokovic got the better of Berdych. First set was tight as World number 1 won it 8-6 in tie breaker. He got the only break in second to win 6-4. He would meet winner of Raonic-Monfils match.</p>

Noh seeks to regain footing at Zurich Classic

South Korea's Noh Seung-Yul hopes to get his game back on track as he seeks to defend his lone USPGA Tour title at this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Noh will have his work cut out for him as he goes against a field on Thursday that includes four of the top-20 players in the world, including world number five Jason Day and number six Dustin Johnson. He then hung on to win by two strokes over Andrew Svoboda and Robert Streb with a closing round one-under 71 in windy conditions.
