I'm particularly impressed with this plot point bc it's a nice attention to a minor detail as well as organically setting up #Brian discovering their affair AND it's a nicely in character thing to do too (the eternal accountant‚ of course Brian would check through #their telephone charges). as the cogs start to whir‚ Brian's work starts to suffer‚ and just as a big contract is being hammered out #less happily (for me) Jenny seems to be getting closer to Mr Martin the bank man. I like him‚ I do‚ but let's face it Jenny and Ted #are end game! still at least it gets them out of the office and we have some nice location stuff going on #the final mystery of the week: the mysterious case of Gabrielle Drake.. she's been conspicuously absent from the series so far #initially away on a film shoot and now simply out of the room or just having left it whenever she's mentioned.. could she have moved on #to pastures new? that would eventually require a storyline to sort out just where Jill had ended up.. here's hoping it was just a schedule #issue and she'll turn up safe and sound...

A quite incredible amount of stuff happens in this 50 minute episode of a boardroom drama slash soap opera about a road #Haulage firm. You wouldn't think it‚ eh? We begin in High Drama‚ as Ann is rushed to hospital after an overdose (the exact nature of which #Is never really buttoned down‚ to the shows credit); here she is entrusted to the healing hands of quite possibly the worst Dr and nurse #Team outside of a horror film. Hilary Minster quite clearly loathes unconscious Ann and her agitated husband‚ and considers her actions no #More than a calculated attention grab (again the show never really nails exactly what happened). Still‚ she pulls through their treatment #And then it's off for her and Brian to recuperate at the seaside; also off on a jaunt are Ted and Jennifer‚ on the holiday of a lifetime #(a seemingly never ending pub crawl through the English countryside) whilst David minds the shop at home. But what's this... Ted has plans #Of a romantic and life changing kind... But what's this also... Old Mrs Hammond‚ with eerily prescient timing‚ has only gone and collapsed #And in the never before seen conservatory slash greenhouse too. Or wait.. Has it been in it before? Maybe she had tea there with Ann once..

"Now for the past forty-eight hours, you two, without my knowledge and behind my back, have been huddled together like crows over a carcass, plotting your disreputable and, in the end, pathetic moves to take over this company."

"I don't think we have to stay and listen to this!"

"You'll sit down and hear me out! I said sit down, David. Now, I don't know the sordid details and I don't want to. I don't know which one of you fancied himself in my chair; or who preened himself with the thought of 'managing director' across the door. All I know is that both of you - both my brothers - were ready and eager to take advantage of Jenny's problems without a thought but how you could profit by it and kick me in the face at the same time! I came up the hard way and I'm telling you, both of you, to plot and scheme as you may: you will never take this company away from me. I'll burn it to the ground first!"
