Hahaha, oh god, just saw an anon trying to claim that Gale stans are "immature" because he's just a "bad boy." That Gale is "angry" and Peeta is "kind" and, if we were realistic at all, we would understand that Peeta's kindness is better. Haha, I like you, anon.
I like how we're apparently "immature" for having the intellect to see past the narratorial bias in THG which never fully elucidates Gale's motives in order to fully grasp his personality, and I like how we're "immature" for filling in the blanks with realistic possible psychologies to more thoroughly explain his character. I like how we're "immature" for seeing beyond the shallow, typological portrayal of Gale as a "bad boy" or an alternate part of an overused and overstated love triangle and allowing him a deeper meaning by trying to give him a decent sense of psychological realism. I like how we're "immature" for understanding that the entire trope of a "bad boy" deviates from the degree of psychological realism to which modern popular fiction adheres and is a trope which much of modern culture is working to dispel, as a slow aftereffect of postmodern disdain for patriarchal standards, and I like how we're "immature" for thinking deeply enough to consider him a realistic and multidimensional character as opposed to a shallow stereotype designed only to wet the panties of teenage girls.
Oh, good job, anon. I like you. I needed a good laugh today.
