Can we pretty pls also have scenarios with other Robins asking the their evil Marks to marry her, I wanna see how down bad they are and how much they’ll fold on 0 pressure 👀 👉👈
Sure xD You know I love writing a down bad Mark, the evilness just adds some extra spice.
Heeere's Lensless, in the 'Robin as a GDA handler' AU
“Marry? Me? You want-” A trembling giggle breaks out of his chest and Mark doesn’t- no way, right? No way she wants to. Not him. Right?
Like, it’s already super crazy that they’re dating, and totally in love and-
Marriage. That’s big. That’s a huge step up. It’s forever, and he wants forever with Robin - God, he wants it more than he’s ever wanted anything, as if everything before it was just a fucking whim - but it doesn’t mean she’d want…with him. Mark. Marrying Mark and like, being his wife? Wow.
That’d be a serious, real relationship, the kind old people have. Mark isn’t the type of guy who gets that. He’s a Viltrumite, duh, and he’ll have to do his duty and whatever when Dad decides it’s time to take over the planet.
But Dad married Mom, and they were together until Mom died, so it isn’t like he’s banned from marrying - Dad likes Robin, Mark’s pretty sure.
Yeah. She’s been over at the house a few times, and Dad told him he can date Robin as long as she doesn’t get in the way of training and stuff. Which she doesn’t. Robin digs all that, even gives him super useful tips and suggestions and she’s so smart, and he’s so so glad she was only joking about the ‘conflict of interest’ thing, and kept being his handler.
He’d refuse to work with the GDA if she work-dumped him. He’s only doing it at all since Dad said to, said Mark could learn a lot about control or whatever, and it’s dumb. It used to be dumb.
It hasn’t been since he met Robin, heard her voice over comms, and by the end of her shift Mark’s stomach was doing somersaults and he’d never had a crush before, and it was amazing.
Terrifying, too. Sometimes. He tries not to dwell.
Especially now they’ve been dating for a while, and he basically lives at her apartment - moved all his comics and figurines and posters in, and his games consoles too, and they bought new stuff together so it’s theirs and he felt all gooey and kind of like crying? Which was weird, and then he did cry once they unpacked it all, which was weirder, but they cuddled on the couch all evening and that was pretty great.
His eyes feel prickly and warm now. Probably because it’s so bright out today. They’re at the park, just walking around, and it should be super boring. It’s a park, not exactly exciting, and he’s in civvies so it isn’t as if anyone will pop out from behind a bush to, y’know, ambush him (oh, he should tell Robin that one later).
Let’s get married, she said casually, like she was suggesting they go out to the club she likes best, with the cracked tile floors and glass bar. Like she was asking him to fly her over to some concert she wants to check out, and they’ll sneak in because it’s more fun that way, and he’ll barely look at the stage at all.
He’s still holding Robin’s hand, and he goes back to the loose swinging. Shoves his other hand in his hoodie pocket, fist clenched tight and- he can’t look at Robin. He chews on his bottom lip, and it’s a mean joke, isn’t it? She can be mean but this is- it’s a little, uh, extra mean.
“You don’t wanna marry me,” he says quickly, throws in a wide grin as he manages a glance over. Just to check on her. He catches a glimpse of her face - the tilt of it toward him, warm and soft and he blinks fast, looks away, and he’s so fucking nervous, Jesus.
“Why wouldn’t I?” she asks, that low tease he has memorised by now and a laugh bubbles in his throat, but he swallows it down. She isn’t flirting with him on comms. She’s saying she- she asked- she said they should-
“I don’t have a ring? Yeah.” He nods, because you can’t get married without rings. Obviously. And that’s why Robin could never want to marry him; he forgot the rings for…when she proposed to him. Okay. Clearly, he’d make an awful husband if he can’t manage this much. “Totally ringless. Not a ring in sight and I have- I have pretty good eyes. I can see…far. And I don’t see any rings.”
He hastily shields his eyes with one hand (the one not holding Robin’s, because he doesn’t want to let go even if his hand is getting clammy) and makes a show of searching.
They’ve slowed down on the circling route around the park. He gets less antsy if they’re moving while on a date, even if it’s just a slow walk; he likes taking her flying more. But it’s still nice.
One step in front of the other, and he has to match his strides to her super short ones, and sometimes he’ll trip her just so he can catch her and blame, like, a rock or whatever. He likes when she calls him ‘my hero’, and her deadpan tone is so funny, and-
She’s hard to shock. Or make mad. He hasn’t managed it yet, even though he’s tried. He’s done some grizzly shit on GDA missions, just to check how squeamish she is while staying inside Dad’s lines on what he’s allowed to get away with where the GDA can see.
It’s all gonna change once Dad says it’s time.
Mark’s never been sure when exactly? Dad made a big deal about waiting for Mark to grow up and ‘prove he’s a Viltrumite’ or whatever, like Mark hasn’t had his powers since he was a kid. He’s all grown up now, ready to take on the world (literally!), but Dad said some stuff a month or two ago about the empire having issues?
Okay, Mark wasn’t paying as much attention as he should’ve been. And he definitely shouldn’t have been sexting during training.
But Robin says he sucks at it, so he’s practising, and the reward of a quick kinda topless pic sent from a bathroom stall - white button-up open, tank top tugged up and the edge held between Robin’s teeth, the sky blue skimpy bra and the bruises he left the night before still staining her chest - was soooo worth annoying Dad.
So, sure, Dad’s delaying until his empire sorts out some issue. Maybe. Prooobably?
It might also have to do with the Guardians, and Mark’s really hoping Dad will let Mark kill them. Yeah, they’re Dad’s friends, but Mark’s known them for years too! They’re strong enough to actually put up a fight, a real one; Teen Team are nowhere near their level, ugh.
He has high hopes for Eve, though. She’s cool, and Robin says she has loads of potential to do crazy shit with her powers. If Mark pushes her, she’ll have no choice except to show off a bit.
Eve, he means. Mark would never ever hurt Robin. She’s his girlfriend, and he loves her, and she’s…human. Fragile. He had to remind himself of that a lot at the start, but it’s pretty much second nature now to keep his grip just right for her soft, human hand. Whenever he bruises her, it’s only on purpose - only when she wants it, too.
Sometimes, she pulls his hand up to his own throat and tells him to squeeze, and he does, and he loves the curl of her fingers on top of his. He loves how she watches him as the dizziness takes over - he always exhales every bit of air in his lungs first, and if he’s too slow, he’ll go for the blood flow instead - and his cock will twitch inside her as she rocks her hips just slightly, draws it out until he’s whining.
Until she lets him breathe and he’s begging her to tell him to rip himself open, break his ribs, his spine, make it easy for her to reach inside him and hold on forever and he wants it so fucking badly and-
When she held his heart, said, “Alright, just for you,” as her fingers slipped deeper once he opened up for her, he came so hard his arms and legs went numb and his vision whited out.
He felt delirious with it, so turned on he couldn’t let her leave the bed for the rest of the day. Even once she had to let go, because his chest kept being really annoying and trying to heal up.
He left pretty deep bruises on her hips that time. Once he got rid of the bloody sheets and they’d showered, she pushed his hands to his hips until he had a few matching sets. He kept recreating them until hers faded.
“Mark,” she says, and it sounds like it isn’t the first time she’s called his name.
Whoops, he’s hard. He tugs the edge of the hoodie down and it mostly covers him up, if no one looks closely. Maybe there’s a bathroom nearby. Robin doesn’t mind screwing around wherever, and he’ll keep her from touching anything gross. Or he can just fly them home, or to a rooftop, or experiment more with mid-air fucking.
“Sorry, baby. I’m listening.” He sends Robin a sheepish smile, widens his eyes innocently. But as soon as he looks at her he remembers the proposal, and he was talking about no rings, and…
“If you don’t want to marry me, that’s fine,” she says, and no, what? In what universe would Mark not want to marry Robin? “I was-”
“I do!” He turns to her, takes both her hands and she has to know he’d absolutely marry her in a heartbeat. Less than one. He can move faster than that, for sure. “I’d marry the fuck out of you, Agent R. Who needs rings? Losers, that’s who, and we’re not losers. We’re winners. We’re winning at marriage, together, as a team. Okay?”
Then he kisses her to seal the deal and oh.
She was serious? And now they’re going to…
His eyes sting, and his breath hitches, and he hugs her as tight as she can handle. Her arms wrap around his neck and he buries his face against her shoulder, and she really, actually said let’s get married.
Mark and Robin. Together forever.
