Italianos ya casi terminan su robot que prepara pizzas

La tecnología de los robots autómatas ha crecido tanto que cada vez están tomando más trabajos realizados antes únicamente por humanos. Primero empezaron a repartir pizzas y ahora están a punto de convertirse también en los responsables de prepararlas.

Resulta que el proceso completo para la elaboración de una pizza es realmente complejo y requiere de varias etapas de cuidado. Desde la formación y amoldado de la masa, hasta la distribución de ingredientes y horneado.

Por ello, Bruno Siciliano, Director del departamento de robótica de la Universita’ degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, inició en el año 2013 su proyecto de desarrollo denominado como RoDyMan (Robotic Dynamic Manipulation), consistente en la creación de un robot capaz de preparar pizza.

Ha tomado mucho tiempo y dinero, cerca de EUR €2,5 millones (USD $2,78 millones), pero el autómata cocinero ya está casi listo, de acuerdo con las delcaraciones de Siciliano en una entrevista para la revista Scientific American.

Con el desarrollo de los últimos sensores visuales de movimiento necesarios para perfeccionar la técnica de RoDyMan estirando y dando forma a la masa, el robot estará listo para hacer su gran debut en mayo de 2018, durante el Festival de la Pizza en Nápoles.

Más vale que la pizza preparada por este robot sea deliciosa, si no se habrían tirado millones de dólares a la basura.

Seriously when are they going to start delivering pizza by robot? I need to know there will be a time in my life that I can eat a pizza with literally no other human knowing about it.

Back in December I wrote about a magical machine that turned money into pizza. The pizza vending machine. It's the closest man kind has come to alchemy. At the time, the Pizza Vending Machine made its home in the Netherlands and throughout Europe. Which is ideal since pizza is so hard to find there that the convenience of this machine really made sense. I'm sure a lemon and olive oil machine are in production as we speak.

Meanwhile, across the lake Americans have struggled in the absence of a pizza making machine. We've streamlined the process to an online interface and mobile apps, but even that isn't convenient enough. For months we've glared across the lake, shaking our flabby fists at the Netherlands. We've cursed their innovation and held protests to have the pizza vending machines stationed here. Finally, they've heard us which means the Occupy Movement can subside.

A1 Concepts, the company behind the machine, hopes to open a headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia and begin to distribute the pizza vending machine throughout the United States. By making a home in Atlanta, I just hope that Varasano's doesn't feel the robotic squeeze.
