Passando pela porta na Via del Babuino, praticamente na ampla e imponente Piazza del Popolo, onde ficam dois cafés que são parte da história elegante de Roma (o Canova e o Rosati), é IMPOSSÍVEL imaginar o jardim alla romana com escadas e fontes cheio que compartilha o muro com a Villa Borghese (um dos maiores e mais belos parques da cidade) do Hotel de Russie, uma pequena joia da hotelaria que ocupa um palazzo que foi desenhado pelo mesmo arquiteto da Piazza del Popolo, Giuseppe Valadier, num belíssimo projeto urbano do começo do século 19. E a localização não poderia ser melhor: além de todas as lojas de moda das grandes marcas italianas e internacionais que se alongam pela Via del Babuino e pela Via dei Condotti, você está a 10 minutos a pé da Fontana di Trevi, num percurso delicioso passando pela Piazza di Spagna; a 15 minutos da Piazza Navova; e, indo para o outro lado, basta cruzar a Piazza del Popolo para ou pegar o bonde que leva ao Maxxi em 10 minutos ou o metrô que leva também em 10 minutos para o Vaticano ou qualquer outra parte da cidade. Sem falar que o Hotel de Russie está totalmente de acordo com as necessidades dos viajantes contemporâneos: a academia é completinha com equipamentos Technogym; o serviço de quarto é 24 horas; tem uma enorme jacuzzi e saunas seca e vapor no spa; uma loja da 100% Capri DENTRO DO HOTEL (uma das minhas marcas preferidas que só faz roupas de linho); e a mesa do suco verde com centrífuga para que você faça o suco do seu jeito - tem todos os ingredientes in natura de que você possa precisar na mesa - no café da manhã é algo que eu nunca tinha visto em nenhum outro hotel elegante do mundo.
