Ok. Sundays I decided to allow myself to sleep in past 5am. Sunday morning workouts will be primarily yoga/ stretching. Will still do a set of squats (on my Soloflex) and some upright dumbbell rows since my current routine neglects the traps. This morning I took my Rx and black coffee and a shot of apple cider vinegar for good measure. I will wait until after yoga to have breakfast (a cup of kefir, handful of almonds and vitamins) due to the GERD. Then will get out of the house with my girls. Thinking the Rochester Museum and Science Center and other activities.
OK, I had my breakfast and also a teaspoon of raw natural honey. Now it’s time to get some fun going on in this day!
So I think I have nailed it with the Sunday morning workouts. I took it somewhat easy on this inaugural run, but I discovered a couple of neat things. First of all, I did only 200 pound squats on the Soloflex, but that was good weight to start with and requires a weight-belt for my back. It works the muscles differently than the Smith Machine Squats at Planet Fitness; I can feel it in different areas of my thighs. I think they will compliment each other nicely in my lower extremity development (and with the Holden leg genes I inherited, all the help, the better). Also, I found a Rodney Yee morning yoga on GaiamTV that stretches and loosens my low back and thighs perfectly. It is only 15 - 20 minutes long, so I am going to add it to my daily slim in 6-pack morning stomach routine prior to going to the gym. I did just one set of upright dumbell rows with 30 pound dumbbells. I will start tracking progress with the Soloflex squats and dumbbell upright rows, Also, though I am going to start doing Rodney’s yoga routine Mondays - Saturday, I think I am going to take advantage of the free veteran’s yoga classes at Beyond Center for Yoga Sunday mornings; finally try out a yoga class with other people. We shall see.Excited to be into the swing of things!
Lunch: 3 scrambled eggs and one Taco Bell slider
Dinner: meatloaf with flaxseed instead of breadcrumbs and cauliflower mashers. Also had one shot of apple cider vinegar. The museum was a great time. :-)
