The rain goddess (2)
She lays in the grass; down on her side.
The blades tickle her cheek.
It is much too hot to move or even speak.
The air is heavy; her mouth dry.
There hasn't been rain in weeks -
the mortals are wondering why.
It is the dead of summer time
where the fire elemental thrives.
He is here visiting his girl;
leaving the rain goddess dry.
It's his favorite season
and oh boy,
does he let the heat in.
She rolls to her back,
an action quite strenuous.
Her exposed breasts shimmered
in the golden light.
Just as the breeze arose,
she was dreaming of night.
It blew her hair from out its place.
A sly smile spread across her face.
"My dear, you are finally here. Back from the depths of space."
"I have come to provide relief."
His voice was deep; a welcome treat.
He placed a kiss upon her cheek;
while she placed a hand upon his,
which caused a stray curl to stop in its place.
The wind picked up once more.
"I know this is your favorite form."
He stated while she admired the long curl.
She cocked her head to the side
as she gazed into his blue eyes.
"I love every single form you take, my sweet. I love you and all of you; from your head to your feet."
"I will love you for eternity."
He only broke eye contact for a brief moment,
to glance at her lips.
She flushed red and turned her head
to firmly press her lips to his.
Her love has returned; could it get better than this?
His hands began to wander.
The clouds turned to grey.
The droplets fell one by one;
finally providing relief to the hot day.
Her lover has returned and for as long as he's here -
the rain will stay.
