The New Lilo and Stitch Movie?

My friends pretty much forced me into watching the movie Moana because I had not seen it. This is one of those movies that became super popular and I just had no interest in going to see. I’m not a huge fan of animated movies and I think the best musical by Disney is still High School Musical. So I was very forced into watching this one. All in all, I liked it, it told a story about a young girl, Moana (voiced by Auli'i Cravalho) who had a dream of sailing the ocean but whose family prevented her from doing so by telling her she should not go near the ocean. The main song ‘How Far I’ll Go’ is played multiple times in the movie to prove the character’s determination towards the goal she is trying to accomplish. The message of this movie was to never give up on your dreams. My favorite character in this movie was the character played by ‘The Rock’ Johnson. His character is named Maui, Maui at first is not the biggest fan of Moana but eventually gives in and becomes sort of like her mentor. Maui teaches Moana how to sail and how to tell which way they are going. I also find it rather amusing that Dwayne Johnson has a musical exposure within this movie, I feel like that is a rare thing for him, but the song he sings ‘You’re Welcome’ is definitely one of the best songs within the movie itself. Un-popular opinion but I liked ‘You’re Welcome’ more than ‘How far I’ll go’. Overall, I liked the film but I do not really think I would watch it again, personally, animated movies are not my cup of tea. I do think this was well made, it just was not always catching my full attention.
