Ritchie Valens cared about two things above all else—his music and his family. Luis Valdez captured both brilliantly in his film, "La Bamba.

Each time I watch LA BAMBA, I love the movie a little bit more. The new Criterion edition of the film brings even more depth to my appreciation.
