unfortunately i think i gotta give it to the rock a thon fit. pre liberty spikes. objectively it's a fucking awful fit, because why did he only have one shoe and what was going on with his pants leg?? there was just something so very attractive about it that still haunts me to this day </33 weird punk-y butchy nick you're so dear to me...

also! massive honorable mention to the look from the ted nivison skit. thought it would be unfair to count this as the hottest "fit", because it was really just the blood, but know that it's up there in terms of looks in general. like. it's all over the screen. idek what else to say good gawd :))

The Guided By Voices podcast Self-Inflicted Aural Nostalgia has been a companion of mine throughout 2018. Author Jeff Gomez’s massive review and analysis of every one of GBV’s proper albums from 1987’s Devil Between My Toes to 2018’s Space Gun is chock full of insights for both casual and dedicated fans of the group. Odds are that you might even discover an album or two you missed along the way that might even become a new favorite.  As a way of sending off his year long trek deep into the grooves of Robert Pollard’s mind, Gomez assembled this stellar 27 song collection of GBV inspired tunes from bands all over the world entitled How Do You Spell GBV.  Listening to these salutes to the Fading Captain with all of their tape hiss, and lo-fi 4 track trickery is like musical comfort food for this writer, and even makes me wax nostalgic for my days as a Pollard inspired indie rocker.  Heck, we even managed to get an album released on a label called Big School Records.  But I digress, we heartily recommend checking out both the podcast, and the tribute album which is free to download.  3 cheers for Uncle Bob!

Guided By Voices use their voices to announce their ONLY NEW ALBUM of 2018, guide our browsers to new track and tour dates

This is it, don’t get scared now:

Guided by Voices will be releasing one album, AND ONE ALBUM ONLY, in 2018.

It’s, uh, it’s gonna be called Space Gun. It’s comin’ out on March 23, 2018 via Robert Pollard’s own Rockathon Records and is pre-orderable here.

The implication here is that this album — this ONE SINGLE GBV album to be dropped during the course of the earth’s next circuit around the sun

Exactly one year ago today I preformed in my first rock show. We covered the songs Holiday and When I Come Around by Green Day and Californication by RHCP. To this day I've preformed in many shows since. But nothing has yet beaten that experience. It was by far one of the best days of my life. Much love to everyone who was in that band<33
