The Emasculation of LeBron James
Heavy lies the head that wears the crown, and mashed are his jewels after he gets kicked in the nuts.
If you missed it on Sunday, LeBron James and James Harden got in a bit of a scuffle during a hotly contested matchup between the Cavs and the Rockets.
It started with LeBron straddling Harden's teammate Patrick Beverly unaffectionately and ended with the "King" missing two potentially game-winning free throws in overtime.
But in the middle of this hot mess of a game, we saw our leading candidate for "Lance Stephenson Blowing in LeBron's Ear" Moment of the NBA Season.
DOWN GOES THE ROYAL GROIN!
LeBron isn't used to this type of cruel and highly unusual punishment and after the loss, he lashed out in the only way he knows how: Instagram mirror selfies.
Is this what's become of the rightful heir to Jordan's throne? Responding to a nut stomp and missed free throws in the manner of a middle school girl expressing her teen angst?
Look at this face.
Is this the face of the NBA, or that of a moody prima donna with strong feelings about 5 Seconds of Summer?
Call me crazy, but maybe Harden's groin assault wasn't just an in-game act of aggression. Maybe it was the turning point in LeBron's career.
Harden even went ahead and stole LeBron's nickname after the exchange.
There's no telling where this story will go next; the future is yet to be written for LeBron and his diminishing manhood.
But as the old Confucian proverb goes, "Once you go mirror selfie, your career goes to shit and no one respects you."
