Today’s record was recommended by my friend Nina whom I work with. She introduced the band by saying that they are one of Johnny Rotten’s (Sex Pistols) favorite bands. So, my curiosity was peaked, and I decided id give it a go. First impression: I really like the blend of standard punk style sounds and guitar playing, with interesting vocal harmonies, and fun, playful drum beats and at times some off-tune but well placed violin parts. Some of the songs kind of feel a bit like an all female version of a great band called “The Minutemen”. A very fun, and different listen from the records I’ve listened to so far during this challenge. Thanks Nina!
