@rockingthe45 describe your muse’s smile.
x. if only he had just one.
tony’s got wide shark smiles, full of teeth and no warmth, but those are reserved for the press, mostly. they’re plastic and fake and charming and smooth and entirely a lie, because they’re a complete and utter sham. more of a...never let them see you hurting face for the public. for a guy who’s been raked across the coals as many times as he has, it’s understandable. he’s been in the spotlight since he was single digits, and they’re a warning, not an invitation.
he’s got twisty, self-depreciating smiles, when he’s making a joke at his own expense, when he’s...i don’t know, putting himself down in some way. those “well it’s me what’d you expect” kind of smiles. those are genuine, but they’re not happy.
he has a secondary wide smile that’s as fake as fake can be. these look crumbly around the edges, like he’s this close to falling apart. tony’s actually...well. thin-skinned, with the people he cares about. but he’ll give them smiles in the face of backlash and being ripped apart over some decision he’s made or some thing he’s done or...these are really the laugh or he starts crying kind.
he’s got these wicked little grins when he’s about to really burn someone’s ass or make a great joke, and his eyes are all sparkly with mischief and...well, if you can resist those you’re just damned heartless.
there are the kinds he gets when he gets to talk about something he’s working on, and use big science words with while he rattles through complicated math and they come accompanied with lots of gestures and sometimes sketching things out on scraps of paper and napkins and he lights up like christmas in july with these, because tony’s...well. he’s tony. he’s passionate. he loves what he does. he loves talking about it to someone that wants to listen, even if they don’t get it.
he’s got wide, easy smiles for people he cares about, too. these are the rarest? like...tony doesn’t really smile like that anymore, it has to be genuinely special. the person getting them has to be genuinely special.
and he’s got others. seductive little smiles that are crooked. sad, soft little smiles when he’s hitting upon some old nostalgic feeling dredged up out of somewhere. content little smiles. truth is tho, tony smiles a lot, but you gotta watch his eyes, because his eyes say whether they’re genuine or not.
