the chimera ant’s tail lashed behind them as they sought some kind of stimulation, something that would get their blood pounding in this city full of accursed humans. some of them, they could sense, would put up a good fight; they could tell the nen users from the regular people quite easily, even without looking. but, alas... they were under strict orders not to cause too much trouble.

their feline gaze caught on a boy, and they tore their eyes from the other nen user they’d been watching to see if they could catch them alone. interesting... something about him tugged at their chest, his earthy scent bringing back faint sensations of memories that had long since been wiped from their brain.

they crept closer. they smelled kite on him, now.

c l o s e r ... until he could feel their breath on his neck.
