Would ya just look at those curls! I use to hate my curly hair when I was younger, especially growing up on the coast. Straighteners were redundant any time of the year other than the middle of winter, although I'd buy the best ones anyways, put them on the highest setting and fry the shit out of my hair all while wondering why it never grew . And trying to keep a nice bun for cadet and then later army parades was only achievable with half a bottle of gel which I had to layer, but if it rained or was going to rain I was screwed anyways. I hated it.. until I stopped fighting the ever losing battle and started to "embrace the curl" (my term 😂). Now, other than at work where it's in a loose bun under my hard hat with a bandanna, I wear it curly all the time. It's what I got, it's mine, and I chose to love it. There's no magic formula for loving something you don't like about yourself, more like a random epiphany, but you have to be open to the idea of eventually loving ______ about yourself that you normally don't like before said epiphany will happen. At least in my experience. So love your 'flaws', love you're unique differences. They're yours, they're what make you you. Don't only love them though, rock them, own them, have them with pride.
