1. Why do you like the pairing so much?

Look I don't think shipping attachments are that logical, but that said - Akrk just have *everything* to me. The passion, the devotion, the tragedy. The individual character journeys & identity crises that are complemented by each other's presence and love, and the conflict of their competing aims. They have a dynamic that always slaps, whether it's teasing/chaotic/devastated/loving/manipulative for Axel or bitchy/kind/innocent/depressed/rebellious for Roxas, in any interpretation they always interact and fall for each other in really interesting ways to me. 🥰

2. Is it your OTP?

Aw. Look, around 2016 I thought I was full done with them, thought my ships had moved on from 2006 KH2 release era pfft. But now I've been 24/7 obsessed with them again for over 2 years and it's made me so dang happy, lol. And I can trace so many good things in my life (like books & music discovered, friends made etc.) back to this stupid ship. They give me so much life and inspiration. I wouldn't be writing on ao3 at all if not for this ship. So I guess??? Idk ask me again in 10 years. 😂

3. Do you like any other ships involving either of them?

Ohhh interesting. I'm usually a pretty chill multishipper, though in all cases akrk are still endgame to me. 😂 But I do like a good angsty RikuRoku, HayRox is delicious, I used to ship RokuNami & Roxiri, and past Akusai is always interesting to me (though ngl it's pretty poisoned these days with fandom being so weird about Leaisa).

8. What do you think of the fandom versions of them (Pervy Axel and Tsundere Roxas)?

Oh my GOD these questions are so old LOLLLL. Okay HMM. I think the pervy Axel characterisation is a shame because it was a real bridge to antis grabbing ahold of the ship and saying it's abusive or whatever. As if that fandom interpretation of Axel was really the only option of how he would act if shipped with Roxas. Which isn't the way I see him at all - he's devoted, he's head over heels tragically in love and has no clue how to deal with it. Personally, tsundere Roxas when mild is okay - Roxas is hurt and also has no idea how to express feelings so it kind of makes sense to me. Imo the worst characterisation for Roxas is the "too dumb to function" innocent baby thing that sprouted from Days. Arrrrghhhhh

9. How do you imagine their first (kiss/date)?

Omg I will read & imagine 50000 different firsts for them lol 🥰🥰 Some running themes include long pining looks beforehand, Roxas making the first move on instinct and Axel grabbing at it and savouring every second of finally having his boy in his arms 💖💖 Immediate insane passion. First date-wise I imagine would just be an extension of their usual clocktower/meal hangouts but with both of them a bit more nervous. 🥰

11. Do you prefer the pairing in a canon setting or an AU?

Impossible to answer, lol. "Let's meet again in the next life" means all AUs are canon, technically!! 😂😂 Okay I adore the inherent angst of canon but I also love how easily they slot into really fascinating AUs. I can't choose, my preference is different every day, sorry! 😂

13. When do you imagine their birthdays to be?

Ohhhhh... The copout answer here is 8/8 and 13/6. 😂 But in one of my fics I made Axel a May baby, and something about November suits Roxas to me. (Ohhh maybe it's because in the extended version of Passion there's the lyric "It seems a child is born in the winter" and I always associated that with Roxas? See?? My whole life is made of them!!!!)

I unfortunately did not know John Rod before this but now I’ve learned of him. My eyes have been opened. As far as the name, that’s his name for now. I did a tad bit of research and apparently it’s an unnamed stand from part 9. The community decided to give him one and named him John Rod. I really hope that if this stand was written with no name and is given one later, that the name will have something to do with “John” or “Rod” (unlikely scenario)

And as far as the spoiler thing goes, when it comes to stands I don’t really mind you’re all good. Even if I did mind I wouldn’t be mad at you bc you wouldn’t have known👍. Never read part 7 (unfortunately😭😣) but I’ve known about the antagonist’s stand for a while. also never finished part 6 (working on it) but I do know a few major events that happen. I would’ve liked to go through jojo with no spoilers, but I’ve accepted I’m not that patient and I want fanart NOW😅! I’m trying so hard to hold off looking at things for Zexal so I don’t get spoiled and it’s NOT EASY😫. But I’m doing my best! I will not be spoiled for Zexal! I refuse to be spoiled for Zexal 😤!

Hi! Adding onto the dub vs JP names, in the original JP Trey is III, Quattro is IV, Quinton is V, and Vetrix is Tron!

(The JP names honestly drive me a little nuts if I think about the implications of Roman numeral names too hard...)

The number brothers are actually just numbers and I love it very good :D

Something with Vetrix being tron….. “Tron” makes my brain go Megatron which makes me think of his name origin. His name is from “megaton”, a measurement for explosives. The “r” was added for fun flavor to make him more robotic. Some people think it could be a reference to electrons/electricity (i like this idea). “Megatron” sounded so scary/evil to the show creators, the name almost didn’t survive.

Anyways my point, the explosive power and big scary Megatron’s name carries is funny when you apply it to tiny child who play card game. Especially a child who has magic powers and can teleport and probably kill you with the flick of a finger, provided his card effects allow him to. They’re both explosively strong in a way I guess :)

Straight up what do you think of Yuma and Astral?

Well I’m not very far in the series right now so I don’t know much about them. I have a good feeling that they’re going to become friends somehow. Yuma seems to not really like astral but is starting to value his advice a bit more. I think he recognizes that astral is a better duelist than him and Yuma doesn’t like that. It can also be pretty weird and annoying to have someone you don’t know (who doesn’t even know himself) suddenly with you every moment of every day and no one else can see nor hear him. So I think Yuma disliking astral is understandable but also astral is just so chill. Astral definitely pokes fun at Yuma sometimes (I can’t tell if he’s genuinely trying to tease him or not tho) and it’s adorable to watch them interact.

I’m very interested to see what astral’s backstory ends up being when I get there in the show. Was he evil and forgot or was he nice and forgot? He was sent to do a mission but what mission? He said he thinks he was supposed to take over Yuma’s body but it didn’t work and he lost his memories. So that makes me think he was supposed to do something evil. But maybe it was to help his original planet or something and the only way to do it was to take over Yuma? Either way I love him he’s adorable. I love when aliens visit earth and humans have to show them how things work here (I also love the reverse when an alien shows a human stuff from their planet). I feel like it can give the viewer a greater appreciation for their own world they live on and makes them want to help it more.

Side note: can astral sleep? Does he need to sleep? Was he able to sleep before being attached to Yuma but now can’t? Or can he still sleep? I want to knowwww!

I’d love to revisit this question once I’m farther along in the series! I think it’d be nice to see how my thoughts have changed and such :)

C. Do they like physical intimacy (holding hands, cuddling, sex)?

I think Roxas is naturally not physical with people - in canon he was born and lived without any touch or physical affection, and probably doesn't realise the lack. BUT with the right person... 🥰 I think physical affection becomes suddenly very important and a way to express himself and communicate feelings that are too difficult for him to voice. Plus, someone who is able to get him so vulnerable and affectionate in an intimate moment would have to be very special to him, to break down his walls and make him feel comfortable 🥰 I think Roxas would find it easier to express himself physically than verbally a lot of the time regarding big feelings. Could be shy about initiating physical intimacy but once it's there he'd hang on tight 😂🥰🥰🥰
