The Lost Sheep
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. Psalm 23:1-6
A shepherd always uses his staff to guide and correct his flocks. He lovingly chastises them in the way of correction. They know his voice and follow his commands. No matter how many enemies you have, God has ALREADY prepared a table before YOU in the presence of your enemies. All you have to do is abide in HIS will, walk where HE tells you to walk, endure correction, and obey the shepherds voice.
And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. John 10:4-5
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matt. 10:24
It’s all about following HIS direction, HIS lead, HIS guidance, HIS instructions! When we do this we can sit comfortably at a prepared table in the presence of our enemies!
If you are a backslider you are lost, you need to repent and go back to your first love! He is waiting for you! “He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake” Psalms 23:3 Jesus has obligated himself to restore your soul. He promises to lead you in a plain path of righteousness. Jesus (Your Shepherd ) is waiting for you with open arms. It’s ok to be lost but, when he calls, you need to answer!
