Rod Seiling’s Wild 1967 Hour
In one of the strangest NHL moments of the 1960s, Rod Seiling was picked by St. Louis at the 1967 Expansion Draft, then traded right back to the Rangers almost immediately. The Blues selected him 36th overall, then flipped him for Tim Ecclestone, Bob Plager, Gary Sabourin, and Gord Kannegiesser.
Seiling had joined the Rangers in a big 1964 trade with Toronto and stayed until 1974, when a quick stop with the Capitals ended with him being traded back to the Maple Leafs… for Tim Ecclestone again!
After two years in Toronto, he finally played for the Blues, nearly a decade after they almost had him for just a few minutes.
