I cannot believe Damon Wayans is such a little bitch. He got Clayne Crawford fired because he couldn’t hack the physical demands and long days of shooting the show and threw an epic bitch fit when Clayne had the audacity to demand Damon do his job (show up on time and do the scenes in the script) that resulted in Clayne getting fired and now Damon fessed up to not being able to hack it and is leaving the show.
He fucked Clayne over so much and tarnished his good name and it was all for nothing because he decided to leave the show anyway. He could have easily decided to quit the show instead of getting Clayne fired for personal reasons. I am in awe of the lack of decency this man has shown. They should bring Riggs back from the dead and kill off Murtaugh. I would honestly love to see Riggs handle (or not handle in this case) Murtaugh’s death and think it would be really compelling. We never saw Riggs’s body or his funeral so it would actually really work to say he had faked his death and went into witness protection with Molly and her kid.
I am just so angry about this because it honestly could have all worked out fine for everyone involved if Damon had acted like an adult. They could have easily promoted Murtaugh to Captain (which I thought was the direction they had been going in anyway) so Damon had less scenes and less (or no) action scenes. They could have brought in a new partner for Riggs or paired him with Bailey. Riggs and Bailey briefly paired up on a few occasions and we already knew they were great together. They could went that direction or brought in a new character to “spice things up” as shows like to do. Hell, they could have had Sean William Scott as Riggs’s new partner. There were so many different things they could have done if Damon had just handled his unhappiness with the workload of the show like a reasonable adult (a workload he agreed to when he signed on to star in a highly packed action show).
It’s just a real shame because Lethal Weapon was such a brilliant show and could have gone on for many, many years if they had just handled their internal shit better and compromised (and talked it out) instead of making rash decisions to fire people.
