ICYMI : Baltimore, MD,Friday July 21st,2017(ANHENT) AMNGLOBAL in conjunction with WMC and NHENT is calling on residents to nominate local youth for various awards to be presented at Baltimore International Youth Day, 12 August 2017 at Frederick Douglas High school from 12pm-5pm. NHENT Advisory Committee, which consists of distinguished alumni representatives from a variety of local high schools, have established the awards to recognize and celebrate the achievements of young people in the local community. NHENT founder Mr. Elliott, MPA said "the awards aim to recognize local youth aged 15– 24 years, whose endeavors support and motivate other residents, enrich lives, and nourish the well being of Baltimore city communities". The United Nations Assembly declared August 12 International Youth Day with the aim of highlighting the roles youth can take and the impact they can make on our global society. There are plenty of young people across Baltimore city making a real difference in the community and we want to acknowledge their efforts publicly. The International Youth Day Awards seek to recognize and reward the outstanding young people in our community, while also engaging youth and cultivating their increased contributions. Please encourage anyone who knows a young person deserving of recognition to nominate them for an International Youth Day Award. Awards will be presented on the day of in the following categories: The Challenge and Change Award recognizes a young person who has made a substantial turn around in their life and demonstrated personal growth while overcoming challenges in day to day life. The Good Neighbor Award recognizes a young person who has contributed within the community by helping neighbors, strengthening community bonds and enriching community life. The Positive Youth Award recognizes individuals who promote a positive image of young people within schools, clubs and the wider community.
