Writing Challenge #1: Happiest Childhood Memory
Steve's childhood was filled with hospitals, doctors, needles and sickness. It was hardly the basis for happiness. However there is one memory he calls on again and again when he's sick or unhappy.
His mother.
His beautiful, hardworking mother who always made time for her son.
He remembers her smile, the way her hair was always curled so perfectly around her nurses cap, the smell of her perfume. The way that she always held his hand when she was sick and would always make sure his room was the last on her rounds when he was in hospital so she could spend extra time with him and help him sleep.
She was his bright light in a dark childhood, something that had always made him smile no matter what.
