yeah - i have never followed a movie blog and i just adored the movie and i wanted to reblog a gif of that moment when you realize those two astronauts are seeing each other but decided it would give away an important moment. I doubt most people even know how to black list posts. . you know?

In the first like week after the movie came out I wouldn’t reblog anything about the movie that might contain spoilers period. I didn’t want to risk people being spoiled. 

As for people not knowing how to blacklist - it’s very easy to look up! I didn’t used to know what it was either, but I saw it used enough (and i started getting annoyed at seeing so many posts about a certain show) and looked it up. It was very easy to learn ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As a side note, if any of my followers don’t know what blacklisting is/how to blacklist something please feel free to ask!

oh - no i'm just curious - other blogs are posting gifs of scenes and stuff that give away pieces of the movie. i LOVED the movie just wanted to ask out of curiosity why a lot of blogs are posting stuff without tagging it spoiler.

Oh, lol tbh I have no idea why some people do that! Maybe they think people have read the book, so it’s not a spoiler? I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll say it again - I fcking hate it when people do that. It was really important to me that I didn’t see movie spoilers because, although I’d read the book, I wanted it to be 100% new information?

People not tagging movie spoilers really pisses me off. Hence why I vigorously tag them!

why aren't you tagging your blog posts as spoilers?

i’m not entirely sure which posts you are referring to? i will tag movie spoilers as ‘themartianspoilers’ and ‘the martian spoilers’ as i’ve said in the past. the posts ive made this evening didn’t in my opinion contain any movie spoilers, they were either a generic post, about the game or about the book - and looking back, any that were about the movie had the tags. 

if there are book spoilers i tag them ‘the martian by andy weir’ as it says in my updates tab “to avoid book spoilers, blacklist 'the martian by andy weir' which is my tag for book related stuff!”

and tbh my whole blog is ‘the martian’ content so if you feel that my tagging isn’t enough feel free to unfollow? i wont be mad!
