Character Name: Altair McCormick
Faceclaim: Carey Mulligan
Sexual Orientation: questioning
Age: 18
Alliance (X-men/Brotherhood/Human/Rogue): Rogue
Power (it’s limits, use and proficiency):
Carey's power is shapeshifting. She's limited to only certain parts of her body. Or changing her appearence to that of another person. She cannot change into an animal. However, she can change her nose into a pig snout. If that makes any sense. The quality of her shifting is uncanny. However, to pull of faking another person, she cannot speak. For her voice remains her own no matter what.

Short Bio( two paragraph minimum about personality and background): When Altair was born, her mother passed away during birth. Before leaving, her father told the doctor that Altair was a mistake and was to be left on the streets. Pegging the man insane, he was sent to months of therapy. Telling the therapists his daughter was destined to be a monster. Although Altair never met her father, she dreams of seeing his smile as she was born. Truthfully he never smiled at her. Only yelled in fear.
Altair was placed in a foster home where she stayed for a couple years. She grew up without friends, even if many people tried to befriend her. Altair was always mentioned as a beautiful, friendly, happy child. But she preferred to stay alone and color in her notepad. A few times she ditched school to walk around town. She could never be found unless she wanted to. She came to term with her powers early in age, giving her an advantage. If being chased she simply changed her nose and hair color to confuse whoever tried to find her. Though she deals with abandonment issues, Altair is a loving girl who cares for everyone. She never cares for herself.
Writing Sample (two paragraph minimum): Being nice sometimes had its downfall. Altair had been asked to attend the home and school for Mutants like herself. At first she thought she might be welcomed into this new place. But as the day got closer, her anxiety grew and grew. It’s okay, Altair. If things go wrong, change your appearance and hide. She told herself. She doubted that would work. Surely the others there could see right through her mediocre powers.
Her foster parents had no clue about her. All they knew was that Altair was accepted into a boarding school. Altair was scared to death. She thought numbly of her mother, searching blindly for her strength. Surely her mother was like her. Why else would her father have ran off? He didn’t know what do to. Truthfully, Altair didn’t blame him. She wished she could run off.
