Character Name: Liam Abernathy
Faceclaim: Jensen Ackles
Sexual Orientation: Open/Has no preference
Age: 21
Alliance He’d like to say neutral as he never liked to pick sides, however Liam has a tendency to lean towards Brotherhood beliefs as he would do anything to be a free man and to be treated as an equal among society. I will still classify him as rogue/neutral however.
Power (it’s limits, use and proficiency): Liam possesses the power of invulnerability. Meaning, he is immune to all forms of physical damage. He is unable to feel physical pain, is never seen bleeding from physical injuries, nor can he suffer loss of limb. However he is highly susceptible to internal damage such as poisons or mental based powers.
Basically he can take a whole lot of kicking, and requires proper training in self-defense to be able to use this gift to the best of his ability.
If Teacher at the school then subject: Not a teacher.
Short Bio( two paragraph minimum about personality and background):
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas as the oldest boy in a family of four to two loving parents. Liam has always been good natured and fun loving; if a tad slow on the uptake of things. His sense of right and wrong has always been blurred, even from a young age and often lacked the ability to grasp another’s discomfort when he got in their personal space. Most of the time he was well liked by his peers and had a wonderful attendance record, which balanced out his rather poor grades nicely. Between his home life and public life he had a good childhood, due largely in fact to the point that he rarely ever fell ill since he was a young child.
In fact, since reaching the age of six he never seemed to bruise, get the sniffles, or a cough. His parents however, thought nothing of it and simply believed him to be a lucky boy. Liam enjoyed sports in his teen years and proved to be quite talented at them before enrolling on several of the school’s teams. Yearning to perhaps enlist in the military or seek employment at the local fire department once he finished high school, he liked to help people and it wasn’t until the anti-mutant campaign rolled into his neighborhood did he start to feel like he might not just be lucky after all.
As he watched the footage on the television, and was told the stories from the paper he felt an internal panic start to awaken within himself. Retreating to his room with one of the steak knives from the kitchen he spent a good couple of hours preparing himself for the moment of the truth, finding out if he really was human or not. He wasn’t sure he could accept it if he wasn’t but when the sharp blade left not a mark on his skin, no matter where he tried on his body it dawned on him that he was one of the beings his neighbors and family hated and feared. Why? Why did it matter that he was like this, it wasn’t as though he could harm anyone with this so the following night at dinner he shared the news with his family, followed by a short demonstration to prove it.
Expecting acceptance and reassurance that he was still their son and brother, and part of him thinking this would be a definite help for if he joined the army. Instead he was cast out of his home and branded locally as a mutant. His so called friends wouldn’t see him, his girlfriend refused to even acknowledge previous plans the two had to live together after high school. Truly at a loss for what to do with himself, emotionally confused, he didn’t want to wait around for the anti-mutant group to descend upon him. He waited until he was able to sneak back into his house to collect some of his belongings before he set out, he only wanted his old life back and couldn’t understand what was so wrong about his ability when he’d seen the other mutants on the television. He was nothing like them…was he?
Writing Sample (two paragraph minimum): Just what do you expect to do with yourself now? A soft voice cooed up from the back of his mind causing him to remove his baseball cap and run a hand through his hair, truly he hadn’t though much past getting to the subway. However as he sat on the low bench, replacing his cap back upon his head it dawned on him just how fucked he was. He wasn’t rolling in dough and he spared a moment to check just how much money he had on him. At the grand ol’ age at seventeen he was royally fucked straight of the ass on this front as he had a grand total of twelve bucks tucked haphazardly in his wallet and, a movie stub to….he squinted at the title. Well, he couldn’t tell because Gary had drawn a dick on it, so he crumpled it up and tossed it into the nearest garbage can before making sure his wallet and all his money in the world was tucked away into his jacket.
First of all, he needed a place to stay and as charming as Gary was, Liam doubted his best pal would let a mutant bunk with him. No one in his town was all too keen on the unnatural, well Gary might be but it was too late to show up there now. He’d just gotten to the subway station, with a pause he wondered how much longer he could milk the use of his phone and patted his jeans down for the device before fishing it out of his pocket to find that he had several dozen missed calls and messages.
Several were from Gary, Pam was ignoring him. Figures, hope that necklace he got her choked her. He hastily scrolled through the numerous messages from Gary, most were angry at him for not saying something sooner-to which Liam could say he hadn’t known but it didn’t work in the movies so it wouldn’t work here. Gary wanted to know what happened with his folks, as he bit his lip and began to respond he was about to hit send when his phone oh-so-kindly messaged him to tell him that his service with cell provided had been terminated, and for him to have a nice day.
Letting out a loud curse, without even thinking he whipped the phone away from himself where it shattered into several dozen pieces. Liam stared at it for several moments, not entirely processing what he had been stupid enough to do. “Oh for…” he groaned and pulled his hat brim down low.
He couldn’t believe he had just done that. On top of being homeless, dirt poor, and a mutant he needed a new phone.
Four years later and Liam Abernathy still needed a new phone.
