Seris sighed softly as they tended to the cut on their side, looking over at Cal as they attempted to clean themselves up. “Some curr decided to take none too kindly to Operator spurning their advances. I pushed them aside as our mutual assailant went to take a stab at them.” They muttered. “I do not appreciate people harming those under my care... and neither does Toaster, as our ‘friend’ found out a matter of seconds later.” They glanced at her and gestured to a small bottle next to her. “Could you pass me that salve Cal? While my kin heal quickly, it is a somewhat uncomfortable process. That will help deaden it a little.”
“I want to know why you stayed.” [ember x toaster]
“On Aleph? Well that’s easy. I couldn’t move the fucking ship and I couldn’t easily get fuel for it, then I cannibalised a load of the engine parts to make the breach gate work. Plus y’know, the sunsets were pretty and I could look at the stars at night.”
He pauses and seems to mull over the question before looking at her. “If you mean why I stayed with you, it’s because you’re tough, funny, keep up with my shenanigans, and have an ass that doesn’t quit.”

Toaster let out an oof as Cal’s fist collided with his gut. Even with the composite armour protecting him, her strength was enough to wind him a little. “Alright alright! Fine, no more hotdog puns. I’m just hungry.” He grumbled, rubbing his stomach.

The Cyborg yawned drowsily, having managed to actually sleep reasonably well all things considered. He rolled over grinning at the equally dozy dragon beside him.
