My Star Wars Senator OC Seris VanTessa!!
I owed you guys an actual render of her now that I have locked in my art style! Also I cut her hair!!
Literally right before I post each time I realize that I keep forgetting to sign my artwork. Oh well, I am too lazy to go back and redownload it-
Also also! I keep trying to decide things for my art style, and I was wondering what style you guys preferred out of the options below! Do we feel the more simple vibe of flat color, or do we prefer fully rendered? Please let me know!!
Which style do you prefer?
Rendered (first image)
Flat Color (second image)
Flat color but with a little bit of simple (not blended) shading
Hihi! 15 for any of yours? Thank you!
15. How long did it take for your OC to accept themselves? What factors played into it?
It took Timo a fairly long time. Most of his life was spent in an orphanage with rooms divided by gender, and a big part of his "advertising", for lack of a better term, to potential parents was being an adorable, small little cuttlefish girl with big bows and ponytails. The cuteness and accessories were partially to try to take attention away from the fact that he was more monstrous than other kids and partially to ensure he was a "normal" child. Cute little girls don't want short hair and boys toys, after all!
Basically, Timo was taught that his future hinged on how well he could perform being a girl. If he was still there when he turned 18, he'd be kicked out even if he had nowhere to go. He did his very best to play the role of "Saira", and tried to ignore how his stomach churned every time he was called that.
Sometimes, he'd think about how happy he felt when he'd had his hair cut short in order to clean it and get it healthy again. He remembered when he was told, "Don't worry, it'll grow back," and that pressing feeling of dispair when he saw it getting longer and how he wasn't allowed to cut it. Wearing bows and being talked about like he was felt wrong. (I think a lot of merfolk standards and gender roles were influenced by humans, and unfortunately, Timo grew up in a place with very heavy human influence)
Timo never even dared to think he was a boy for the longest time, but when he was around 14, it finally popped into his head and... it felt right. "I'm not a girl," He'd think to himself and nod. It took until he was 15 or 16 to fully accept it
He was terrified of telling others this, but when he was 17, he eventually felt safe enough to tell Silas and Morrigan, and he nearly cried when they accepted him.
(He's more comfortable with having longer hair now, but back then he was delighted to have it cut short by Silas, who volunteered to help. What followed was an absolute travesty bc Silas just sliced it off with a knife </3 Dw Timo got a better haircut later XD)
i love my friends did u know that
so here's the gang! Alternate version plus credits for each character under the cut
