Educate us, tell us about Krampus.

UUuh! Well! I love to share information about my country! SO let start it!

(Bavaria is cool, it belongs to us! XD)

Krampus exist in mainly in Austria and Bavaria. In old time, back in the time where the Habsburger ruled the country, was the Krampus banned, because it was forbidden to dress in fur and wear animal or devil masks and hail the devil. But people celebrate the Krampus and his meaning anyway. Nobody really knows where the Legend started but the country is full of Legends and stories about the devil and his companians. 

Now we have the Krampus with St. Nikolaus. While Nikolaus gives appels, nuts and gifts to the good kids, does Krampus the opposite. He takes the bad kids in his bag and hits the bag with his rod. 

We also do “Perchtenläufe” Where men (and now women too) dress up as Perchten (Krampus or devils) with woodmasks and run through their village with fire and sticks and scare the shit out of you!

They do that to scare the bad spirits out and take the sinners with them.
