Non-Official, FanChoice Tshirt #ShirtOffMyBack "Contest" to Support RandomActs
My fellow fans, as many of you are aware, on November 6th our fearless leader Misha Collins set us on a mission to create a funny, fetching, and festive t-shirt design...
On November 12th, he announced the winning design...
While I can't argue that this design is indeed fetching and festive and it definitely hit on the two hints that Misha provided...
There were still A LOT of great submissions to the contest. Now, as contests go, there has to be a winner. And this design is definitely proving to be a good choice having almost met it's 1,000 shirt goal within the first 8 hours.
That being said, I think that there were too many amazing designs submitted to only produce one shirt. That (along with the fact that I am designer myself and I love t-shirt design) is why I am going to make it a personal mission to get other shirts produced as well.
Here's how it's going to work --
1) I am going to peruse the #ShirtOffMyBack tag on Twitter and review the submissions. Any submissions that are print ready (the image could be submitted to a printer for production) and do not violate any copyright or other intellectual property laws will be considered for this "FanChoice Contest".
2) The creators/submitters of the designs will be contacted through Twitter to make sure they want to have their design included in this "contest". All designers will have to give consent before their design will be included in the "contest".
3) I will post the designs within the next couple of weeks (giving designers time to respond) on Tumblr using the tag #FanChoiceShirtOffMyBackContest and I will post a notification on Twitter once the contenders have been posted.
4) Voting will be open for a predetermined (though not yet established) about of time. During this time everyone can vote on the designs by Liking the individual posts.
As I mentioned before, in a true contest there has to be a winner... that will not be the case with this "contest" (thus the reason for the " " around the word contest). Any design that gets over a certain number of likes (also yet to be established) will be eligible to be printed.
5) All eligible designs (those meeting/exceeding the set minimum number of likes) will be submitted for production. Links will be provided to the online shop where the shirts can be purchased.
6) You buy the shirts you want and fill your closet with a ton of new t-shirts. Just like the original Misha-judged contest, all proceeds will go directly to Random Acts. I will never touch, see, smell, taste, wallow in, defile, or otherwise interact with your money at all during this process -- which is good cause my math skills are a little rusty. ;)
So, why did I bother posting this LONG explanation about something that is about to happen? Because I need your help to promote this. I want to make sure that people have the opportunity to get involved and vote on their favorite designs. And, if we are being honest, my personal network is less than impressive... I tend to favor quality over quantity, but in this situation that isn't in my favor.
