Thu 28 Mar 2013 As an early birthday treat, i took myself to yet another live cinema season show. The best thus far. Christopher Wheeldon, along with the rest of the team and cast, have truly outdone themselves this time. What sets this ballet apart from the rest are two things. Technology and creativity. The standard of ballet, was the same impeccable standard. Casting was perfection, as was the staging, lighting, costume, props and so on and so forth. But technology played more of a part than in most. The use of technology in ballet is innovative. Illusion is very important in capturing the essence of the story so it was important that the audience was also transported down through the rabbit hole for Alice's almighty adventure. I do hope to produce a more thorough review (as i have done for the previous live cinema shows) in the next few days but this easter weekend has been all too busy. This performance deseves more recognition than i can probably give at this time, but i suggest buying the DVD which i will be doing in the next few days.
