Though she was glad to have a hug in return, the nervous apology that followed it, brought a quiet sigh from the fish monster. Seemed like it was another bad day for The King huh? 

“Don’t apologize for that. You’re allowed to feel stuff like that ya know?” She grumbled, giving a squint of her eye. “And...you don’t have to spend the holiday by yourself, you can always come spend it with me and everybody else. Don’t even start on not wanting to impose or whatever, you’re always welcome.”

“I just....thought maybe a hug and knowing that would make you feel a bit better.”

   Napstabot personally knew how it felt not to want to show any trace of weakness, he was a celebrity after all.  The only celebrity  in the underground that went as far as to create a hotel and hired different types of monsters—everyday he’d tell everysoul encouraging words and compliments to keep their spirits up; his very own music was also upbeat and cheery for monsters’ to feel invaded by a wave of happiness and a need to shake it off, to dance their struggles away on the dancefloor. Or, to those who didn’t wish to dance, for them to listen to songs that could heal them.

   The King sure was  the strongest  monster down here, in more ways than one, to be capable of looking up at the ceiling and holding back all emotions not to worry but his eyes were ever so expressive. What a poor liar Asgore was.

   “I’ll take the offer of some tea, your majesty,” he said with a smile curving his metallic lips. Perhaps, Asgore might not want to speak about it but Napstabot could always offer his company for a while.

The red panda took a small step back, even though they didn’t know who this goat they didn’t want to see the poor guy obviously so upset. Maxie looked away for a brief second before looking back. They smiled softly, it was a small but compassionate smile.

“You don’t have anything to apologize for...”  “Do you want to talk about it?”

The red panda took a small bandana out of their pocket and offered it to Asgore.

“S-So you can wipe off your tears.”  “I mean, only if you want...!”
