Well, that was fun / Dahlia + Remy
How did she view the world on certain days? If she was ever asked that, the answer would be 3D. Which was what Dahlia was experiencing now as she drove down the empty road toward Salem Center in New York. Visions of things that could have happened, but did not. Lucky for her, she could go under the speed limit because some of the images were of accidents happening and they caused her to swerve a few times. Another thing she really was grateful for, was the empty roads. Not a single car in sight.
Even then, the car she commandeered was not hers. Ricky, one of the body guards in the agency, let her borrow it just for this business trip for a picky client. Brave guy. "Fucking cock sucker...BALLS!" The stream of curses flew from her mouth, her hands turning the wheel quickly to avoid a phantom image of a semi truck going the wrong way. Off the road the car went and that's when it began. The pulling sensation that started in her stomach, heat beating rapidly and an exhale.
In a split second, Dahlia went from being inside a car that just went off road to falling onto the grass and rolling to a stop face up. The woman just laid there, brown eyes staring up at the blue sky as she assessed the damage, Wiggling her toes before slowly moving her legs. Next came her fingers up to her neck. Good, nothing broken save for a few scrapes and bruises. Slowly getting up, she looked around and decided to get away from the road until she slipped back to the present. No sense in meeting someone who she might encounter in the future.
That had not happened yet, but Dahlia was not taking chances. No changes to the timeline, but meeting people might be different. She could be lucky though. She was never in this area and mostly kept to herself. Yeah...Safe. Oh, Ricky was going to skin her alive if his car was totaled. Perfect.
Hours passed since she cut through the woods and she was ready to pass out. Cheeks flushed, Dahlia had broken into a cold sweat. Yeah...she was getting a fever. Great. Just as she was about ready to find a tree to sleep in, the trees thinned and a huge manor appeared. Ok, that's a good sign. Secluded too. Cautiously approaching the bulding, Dahlia spotted someone walking by and changed her mind. No..No people. Nope! She just hoped that they didn't spot her as she turned around.
