Scaf le Phoque Rojan Lithograph from Rojankovsky’s Album du Pere Castor. First published in 1936 and reprinted many times, and in different languages. For me it’s a book that every illustrator should have, how to illustrate animals unsentimentally, coupled with the most astonishing lithographs, and just all round beautiful. Search for the early French editions as the paper and printing is so much better than the post-war copies and the English language editions. #rojan #rojankovsky #scaf #albumsduperecastor #stonelithography #seals #ice https://www.instagram.com/p/Bsphpwlg4A_/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1htt7pg8sm5j
