“Mika..” He hadn’t expected such an angry reaction to such a simple question-- taken aback by his partner’s words with a look of shock plastered across his visage. When Shinoa had told him about Mika’s humanity, (a conversation he only wished he would’ve been there for.) he was frankly confused, as it had left such a looming sense of dread in the pit of his stomach that eventually, Mika would even grow to despise him as well. 

“..I’m happy, maybe we can find a cure before that happens..” Yuichiro murmured, almost to himself as he became lost in thought-- a million ideas circling his mind. (He needed to save Mika’s humanity-- he had too-- but..what could he do exactly?) Lips pursed into a frown, as if he had completely forgotten the other’s presence entirely.

There’s a transmission coming in from those coordinates, the signal may very well be organic technology, but I fear otherwise.❞

❝If you say so, Doc,❞ murmured the teenager, reaching his serv — hand, up to the earpiece to mute his audio. The thought of encountering humans kept him in this mode, hypothermic temperatures easily breaching his skin as he shifted to pull the sleeve of his jacket down, shielding the sensitive shell from any ideas Miko used to joke of — he could practically hear her now. ‘It’s so cold, my skin is turning blue!’

The Autobot allowed a shudder to pass through him before moving ahead, trudging through the snow of the long winter month to gain access inside. It was easy enough to swipe the forged keycard Ratchet had made through the slot, the human lifting his eyebrows in surprise as he found the vicinity still produced enough power for the door to work electronically. The heavy entrance loaded up with a slow and agonizing ‘brrpft—!’, the impatient blond thankful that his height of 5′8 allowed him to slip underneath without having to wait the length of time for the door to open the full way. Even as a small mech, that would’ve taken forever.

They’ve never been the closest in the group, and Mimi has always had the feeling she’s annoyed him. They rarely spoke when she was over in America. Not that she hadn’t made attempts. She had. They just all fell through. Timezones, lack of interest, age difference, whatever.

Sometimes you just don’t click with people. Even when those people are supposed to be your friends.

But it’s been less difficult since she’s returned. His comments aren’t as acerbic. It feels like he is doing it more to be familiar than offensive, and Mimi finds herself sloooowwwly creeping back in to tease him again.

“Tsundere.” The accent is perfect this time. No butchered English to ruin her point. “Moping in the rain under the billboard of your favorite idol.”

She leans in closer, shielding him with the umbrella as she waves her hand to highlight the sight in front of them. 

“Don’t worry, Yamato-kun!” Mimi nudges him before sliding her arm through his. “One day that will be you! And then you won’t have to mope in the rain. You can mope in your fancy studio while all your fangirls scream outside!”
