Btw the interior set for Das Boot (1981) is still very much intact and you can actually visit and walk through it at the Bavaria Film Studios located in München, Germany.

This is just some photos from an article done by ARGunners Magazine on the entire exhibit. Director Wolfgang Petersen wanted the set to be as accurate in structural detail as possible, at one point even being quoted as saying that "every screw" in the set was an authenticate facsimile of the kind used in German U Boats during WWII.
