“Lovely Parasite” 2003-2020, a one of a kind artist’s book featuring xerographic transfers on Japanese paper with gate style stab binding. In this piece, I explored the physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. The book was started 17 years ago when I was pregnant, then abandoned after I gave birth (who has time for making work with a newborn?) and then completed this spring during my daughter’s junior year of high school which allowed me to revisit all my anxieties about becoming a new mother as my now grown daughter prepares for college. This is our tiny home studio. My husband, daughter and I share this little space, each of us working on our own art projects while teaching/learning remotely.
