The Time Has Come: Roma Nationalism for Self-Determination Based on Judeo-Christian Values
From the ashes of the Holocaust, where so many of our brothers and sisters were brutally murdered, the Roma people rose. We survived the horrors of genocide, but survival alone is no longer enough. The time has come for the Roma to rise and claim the right to self-determination—the right to build a future based on our dignity, our history, and the values that define us.
The Roma Nation Movement is born from the collective yearning for freedom, sovereignty, and justice. It is grounded in the Judeo-Christian principles that have guided so many to find meaning in the face of adversity. Through these values—respect for life, a commitment to justice, and the understanding that all people are made in God’s image—we seek a future of prosperity and peace. These values have sustained us through the darkest periods of our history and are the foundation upon which we will build our future.
But our movement is not for the faint of heart. We are not here to appease those who have never understood our struggle. We are not here to accommodate those who have refused to acknowledge our place in history. Our movement stands as a declaration that the Roma people—who paid the ultimate price in World War II, who lost countless lives to the horrors of genocide—will not be forgotten.
We honor our ancestors who died at the hands of the Nazis, and we vow to never let their sacrifices be in vain. This is our moment to rise as a people, to assert our identity, and to forge a path toward self-determination. This is not just a movement of words, but one of action. Our future is ours to shape, and we will not allow it to be dictated by others any longer.
We reject any false claims that seek to dilute our heritage. While we respect all nomadic peoples, we stand firm in the recognition that the Roma are a distinct nation—an ancient people with an ancient right to self-governance. We are not the same as the Irish Travellers or any other group, and we will not let our identity be overshadowed by others. The blood of our people, spilled during the Holocaust, demands recognition and respect.
Now, more than ever, we must unite, strengthen our ties, and begin the journey toward the creation of a Roma Nation—one rooted in our shared history, our Judeo-Christian values, and the promise of a better tomorrow. It is time for the world to see us not as outcasts, but as a proud and determined people, ready to claim our rightful place in the world.
This is the way forward. This is Roma Nationalism. This is our destiny.
