Hi there!! I actually made gifs for that scene back in 2019/2020. It's [Here], [Here] and one extra for parallel between MW and Cold War [Here].

I wish I can remake them with better quality or make more gifs for the first MW but I deleted all the footage I had of the game because I am dumb and was trying to make some space in my computer 🤦🏻‍♀️ and I cant reinstall the game cause its a massive ass game and its disk version 🌚.

I mean, I always interpreted Jiang Cheng’s wife requirements thought process as being: “I need a wife for Jin Ling to have a mother” -> “what would ideal mother qualities be” -> “well my sister was obviously the ideal mother” -> “I would like someone as close to her as possible”, without even the slightest bit of thought about what he might actually like in a woman because canon!JC is aroace

at the second thought, the “not too high cultivation” is also because Jiang Cheng painfully, compulsively competitive in a way that only someone who was told he wasn’t allowed to be second best his whole life can be, and he doesn’t want to risk having that sour his relationship with his wife

it would only be at, like...the twenty eighth thought that you might run up against that being the reason. Jiang Cheng might subconsciously realize that his mother was too pent up, too restrained, but he’s as emotionally dense as a small black hole so he wouldn’t be able to verbalize what it is that she was chafing against

but really he just wants his wife to be happy and the only woman he knows who was ever actually happy was Jiang Yanli, and now we’re back to square 1 of “Jiang Cheng never wanted a wife, he just wanted his sister back”

Lowkey this is exactly why I make it such a point to be so annoyingly Jewish both in my fics and also in real life, because there’s a real history that I always hope to prompt discussions about or research for! 

The other day I got an ask from someone wondering if I “only write for Jewish people because many of my stories feature Jewish characters”, and that was so annoying because like,

People are very used to consuming content that isn’t specifically about the type of person they are. It’s never even questioned why every single piece of mafia entertainment is Italian or Catholic in some way. Why are Jewish people the only ones able to consume content about Jewish characters, when we have no problem consuming content for every other kind of person without question?

Akielos serves good ol’ fashioned coffee and bagels and it’s strong and affordable

Vere has these boutique shit and nice furnishing and good atmosphere and these cute scones and lattes. And the price shows. But really people go for the really pretty servers. 

Since they serve different consumer base they are technically not competitors but because the owners are petty one cannot go to one and show up at the other. There are Sides. 

Akielos says they have family values but they have a wage problem and are actually Not That Great to their other employees but Damianos, the owner’s son who works there for Dad, doesn’t know this... 

After getting kicked out of the family business and disowned due to his brother’s ploy, Damianos, 18, jobless and now homeless with $200 in his bank account, loiters at Vere to hide out from the cold, cause he would rather look at Laurent’s beautiful smug face than his brother’s. 

It didn’t take long for Laurent to realize that Damen doesn’t have a place to be.
