Day 2 of Alistair Appreciation Week 🤷♀️
king of ferelden more like king of my heart 🌚
tfw an old post comes back from the dead and you're reminded of how much you love your son alistair thanks @romancingalistair
My original dragon age canon couple! Warden Alistair and Elissa Cousland.
I had an absolute blast at AKon27 this past weekend where I was part of a larger Dragon Age cosplay group as the Warden for the duration of the con.
As part of the weekend, @asunnydisposish was kind enough to let me commission her for a drawing of my Warden Briana Cousland and Alistair which is far more adorable and sweet than the photos taken of me in costume carrying that body pillow she designed lol (just kidding; they're great too!).
Some thoughts..
I figured out recently why the Tranquil in Dragon Age really REALLY bother me. I'm relatively new to the games, not even been playing them a year, but I digress. The reason the Tranquil bother me is because I have a few mental illnesses. And not that long ago, well before my lifetime, one of the "treatments" for some mental illnesses was a lobotomy. Don't even get me started on that barbaric practice.... This makes me angry, upset, sad, and pity them. It's also why I think I can never side with Templars. Even when romancing former Templars (Alistair or Cullen), I just...I cannot agree with them when it comes to mages. I know some do see correlations between LGBTQ persecution and the Mages, I see it as well as a LGBTQ person. But I also see it as mental health and the stigmas surrounding it. I didn't ask to be born like this....just like a Mage in Dragon Age didn't ask to be born with magic. (I'm bipolar, have OCD, and dermatilomania.)
