alright fun new dilemma of the inquisition reunion for aliwarden. alistair and anora realised a long time ago that they can be friends but not lovers, and it’s working well. anora has an arrangement with their trade adviser and is gently prodding alistair to get his girl.
the dilemma is whether this trade adviser is a man or a woman. a woman slaps for obvious reasons, and i think would also give anora more freedom to pursue the relationship without the risk of scandal. just gals being pals and all that.
BUT i also am really taken with the idea of alistair and anora trying for a child and realising early on that it’s fucking dicey. anora will be blamed despite it obviously being an alistair issue, and she simply refuses to let it happen. therefore, there is a very carefully negotiated situation (like. with contracts) with someone senior in the court to make sure anora got pregnant. she and alistair also kept trying, and no-one knows for sure who little prince duncan’s father is. alistair has that freaky dragon blood and managed it once after all, maybe he’s a little less infertile than your standard warden. there’s no questions about the kid’s parentage, problem solved.
if this arrangement is in place for a kid, i much prefer the idea of the potential father being anora’s lover. i am SO torn. i could obviously do both, but i worry i’m just making anora suffer unnecessarily at that point. much 2 consider
