Laying in my bed kicking my legs giggling while scrolling through my character tags and thinking "Woah I was so right for this wasn't I"
Никого не Жалко is also a Romancore song (I have known this song for years but only learned its name like two weeks ago, and also that it's by Leningrad? I never knew lol)
Sneak-peek for Roman Arkadyevich's fate :
They used to laugh at the stupid army recruits who do as they were told back in their school days with Yogush – but it was different once they were actually the ones wearing the uniforms. And Yogush wasn’t here with him anyway. “Move it, move it!” One of the sergeants screamed in his face and he did, he moved it, it started walking, although he wasn’t sure where, and as he soon realized, none of the new recruits were any wiser, so they just circled around the room, one after one, moving it as their superiors wanted, but without any direction. Then someone grabbed his shoulder and yanked him to the side. “Roman Arkadyevich!” “Yes sir!” “Had a shower tonight?” “Yes sir!” “You sure about that!” “Yes sir!” “We’ll have a look at that.” He noticed a couple of other guys have been talked to, while some others continued to circle the room aimlessly as they were told to do. For some reason, the bathroom was fully lit, and there was a large group of people standing in the middle of it, in full uniforms. They had way too many stars on their shoulders to be the new recruits. “Boys, I think we got one.”
time to make some kalimotxo and read up on the soviet experience in Afghanistan (which literally does not affect the story of The Man Who Sold the World in any way, I just like to be informed about the influences, environment and events that shaped the characters)
As mentioned, I made a romancore playlist. It's more about songs capturing a certain specific feeling/scene that I imagine, not a "songs he would listen to" (hostly no clue what he listens to, and I probably don't want to know), plus obviously "Party like a Russian" is featured because...you can't have a romancore playlist without that, even if it's cheesy.
Anyway. The playlist for the eventual "Standing next to his car, Roman Arkadyievich caught a glimpse of his reflection in the car window" fic. Also, you can follow me there, ha ha ha.
Brilliant, Ukhta looks exactly like the type of place I hoped Roman Arkadyevich was raised in.
Priscus: I’m a grown man, I don’t want dinosaur nuggets.
Priscilla and Roman, making their dinosaur nuggets fight across the table: Rawr rawr rawr rawr!!
