Bucky and Steve meet at a pray away the gay camp and fall in love
I feel as though Bucky would be completely angry (as he should be) but he’d take the beatings from the “counselors” because that was going to be the only way to leave, if they thought he was cured.
It was when Steve Rogers arrived that he knew he couldn’t just sit idly by as the beat into him. He was such a scrawny fellow, his bones already poking out of him. His hair already looked too thin. What kind of family could send him to a place like this?
And then when Bucky actually begins to talk to Steve a bit more he realizes just how deep his had got, how much he actually liked Steve. He feels like he’s constantly protecting Steve, ready to attack anyone who would dare lay a hand on him.
And Steve liked him back. He hated how he had to be protected, and was almost always getting into fights, not just with the other boys but the counselors as well. And then Bucky would always pull him out of it, calm him down, and just make him feel better in general. Steve could tell he was falling for Bucky .
Of course they had to keep things secret. They couldn’t hold hands, they couldn’t kiss. They’d only end up getting themselves killed. But when it was nighttime, and no one was awake, Steve would lay in Bucky’s bed, playing with his hair, kissing his knuckles as Bucky would just hold him close, and not want to let him go.
It was the two of them together, and as long as they were together, they could get through the hell they were sent to.
