The only thing more grim than blind dates & speed dating is Reality TV blind dates & speed dating.
Desperation is depressing, not entertaining. It makes me so uncomfortable that we create this grand myth of how necessary romantic love is and then make cheap spectacles out of the people who, for whatever reason, don't attain that norm. It's so distasteful and exploitative and I just despair at it all.
