01. In an argument

“It’s none of your fucking business, Will. Really. Let’s not pretend this is more than what it is.” Roman motions between the two of them, and yeah, it hurts like a bitch. Their relationship may not have a lot of substance sometimes, but Will cares about Roman in the only way he can, but it’s not enough. Not this time.

“Roman...” Will trails off, and Roman looks down and away. He can’t kick the puppy in front of him when Will’s looking up at him like that, can he?

“Seriously. Just go, leave me alone.”

“No.”

“Why do you care?” Roman’s exasperated and Will can feel it in every world. “Stop pretending. I’m sick of it. I’m sick of you.”

“I love you,” he blurts out, and Roman stops his angry tirade.Will’s surprised and shocked him, which means he has a chance. Roman’s giving him time to prove it, and that’s important.

“No you don’t.” 

“I do, dude. Maybe not like Dan does, but I do. And it’s killing me to see you fuck up your life.”

09. When reunited with your muse

“Roman?” Will asks, blinking over at him. It’s Roman, right in front of him, but it can’t be. Roman is missing, presumed K.I.A. after the last attack. Will knows. He had to keep Dan from binge drinking and deal with him crying. For hours. He was a mess and Will was numbed over, trying to deal with Andrew and Daniel and Gemma, oh God, especially Gemma. 

“Hey,” he calls back, all cool and casual, and Will breaks the idea of some detached reunion by picking Roman up in a giant bear hug. Will had to be strong and now he doesn’t, and Maybe a tear or two escapes his eyes.

“Fuck dude you were- I thought- We all thought.” Will stops talking, just squeezing Roman until it feels like h’s going to snap in half under the pressure.

“I love you dude,” Will finds himself saying without talking. Life without Roman sucked, a lot. He never wants to experience it again. “Welcome back.”
