Rome Posting Again
Tagging below so you’ve been warned.
Alright so we are taking a break from taking over the world as Gaul (Because Grand campaigns take a long time.) we are now going to play a Rome Campaign.
*eye roll* “Ugh” says the scoffer. Isn’t Rome like a lame baby faction that any toddler can play? And that’s where you’re WRONG because we aren’t playing any Rome. No no no, We are playing Rome in Rise of the Republic.
rise of the Republic takes place in Italy (And only Italy) starting in the year 400 B.C. This is where Rome becomes independent from the Etruscan league. If this sounds like fun, well it isn’t. In 390 B.C. Rome was IRL sacked by the Gauls, making them an enemy until Julius Caesar conquered Gaul in the 50s B.C.
So let’s see how this goes because the reviews are all people complaining that Rome is hard. Fortunately there doesn’t seem to be any faction penalties. We do get a special ability where Rome needs to be attacked twice to be taken, for all of the good that does us. On the other bright side we get to become a dictator if things get too hairy so that will be fun.
