“hi, i’m roni. you’re beautiful.” roni fidgeted and pulled her fingers through her hair. she hadn’t been so nervous around a woman since melaina. mera sent her a weak smirk and pushed her tongue against the back of her teeth. “holy shit, you’re the woman i saw in my dream.”

“you’ve had dreams about me?” mera mused and folded her arms together. roni opened her mouth to speak but couldn’t think of anything coherent to say. “not even dreams could capture your beauty, roni.”

“okay, my gayness can’t handle this. arthur wants you to leave him alone and i want you to marry me.”

“You’re afraid of me.” Mera noted as she and Roni sat on top of a cliff, staring down at the deep ocean. Roni turned her head and gazed at her with a weak smile.

“That is so far from how I feel around you.” Roni admitted and gulped when a breeze made Mera’s red hair become even more attractive.

“Hm. Then you’re afraid of my powers.” She narrowed her eyes and tapped the rock beneath them with her fingertips.

“What do you think about the surface world?” Roni tried to change the subject and pulled her fingers through her hair.

“Not as bad as I thought it’d be. Plus, there are things up here that… interest me.” Mera answered before she quickly licked her lips and tucked some hair behind her ear. Tilting her head to the side, Roni frowned at her and tried to contain her sudden lust. “You should Atlantis though. I can only think of one thing that’s more beautiful.”

“Unfortunately deep water and I don’t exactly agree with each other. And are you flirting with me right now? Because if you are, you have to tell me. I might be centuries old but I have no knowledge of–”

Roni stopped talking when Mera giggled and blinked at her softly. Her smile was intoxicating in the good way and Roni couldn’t stop her cheeks from heating up. She hated herself for being so bad at being smooth around women. Especially if they were water goddesses with alluring red hair.

“I like this, being so close to you.” Mera confessed quietly and Roni’s heart skipped a beat. “You’re something else, Roni. Fierce, funny, clever, gorgeous… not to mention absolutely badass. And that’s coming from me.”

“Someone’s cocky.” Roni giggled before she licked her bottom lip between her lips, watching nervously as Mera scooted even closer if possible. Then she shook her head over how cowardly she was acting, grabbed Mera’s face softly and kissed her.

Mera raised her eyebrows in slight shock before she put one hand on Roni’s hip and the other on her neck. Roni caressed Mera’s rosy cheeks with her thumbs and deepened the kiss as the waves crashed against the cliff beneath them. Her hands slowly tangled themselves in Mera’s thick hair, putting a smile to both their faces.

“Yeah…” Mera gasped while she reluctantly ended the kiss. “I really, really like this.”
