The 7th film in the Star Trek series was released on 18 November 1994.

As the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation ended in May 1994 after 7 seasons and 178 episodes, the film was conceived to combine the reboot with the original cast. David Carson was hired to direct (after Leonard Nimoy declined), and Brannon Braga and Ronald Moore to write the script (all had worked on the tv series).

A website was developed to promote the film - the first ever for a motion picture - at a time when fewer than a million people in the US had internet access.

Despite receiving mixed reviews (most were disappointed that DeForest Kelley, Nichelle Nichols, and Leonard Nimoy did not appear in the film), Star Trek Generations was a box office success. It was followed by 3 films featuring the cast from Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Five Favorite Episodes of "OUTLANDER" Season Two (2016)

Below is a list of my favorite episodes from Season Two of "OUTLANDER", STARZ's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's 1992 novel, "Dragonfly in Amber". Developed by Ronald D. Moore, the series stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan:

FIVE FAVORITE EPISODES OF "OUTLANDER" SEASON TWO (2016)

1. (2.12) "The Hail Mary" - As Scottish landowner Jamie Fraser puts all of his efforts into turning the Jacobite army away from the impending slaughter at Culloden Moor at the hands of the British Army, his wife time traveler Claire Randall/Fraser attempts to comfort the sick Alex Randall, younger brother of their nemesis Captain Jack Randall.

2. (2.01) "Through a Glass, Darkly" - After returning to the 1940s, Claire finds herself recall her 18th century experiences when she, Jamie and his godfather/companion Murtagh Fraser arrived in Paris, France after fleeing Scotland.

3. (2.09) "Je Suis Prest" - Jamie trains his militia for the upcoming Jacobite Rising before joining the Highlander forces. Claire gives him full disclosure on what little she knows about Scotland's fate during in the Rising.

4. (2.02) "Not in Scotland Anymore" - Claire and Jamie plan to infiltrate France's Royal Court to disrupt Jacobite Rebellion. Jamie is forced to deal with Prince Charlie Stuart in one of Paris' brothels.

5. (2.13) "Dragonfly in Amber" - Jamie forces Claire to return to the future before the Battle of Culloden. In 1968, Claire and her daughter Briana Randall meet historian Roger "Wakefield" MacKenzie and have a reckoning regarding the identity of the latter's father.

The thing that’s the most memorable that I know that we didn’t end up doing was there was a sequence where tom is on the outside of the space shuttle, during a  launch, and it was like a whole long sequence with him on the space shuttle for some reason I can’t even begin to tell you. And we didn’t do it obviously, but when I saw the latest, the latest one that he did, the trailer, and he was on that airplane taking off, I was like ‘Oh my god, he finally got a chance to do that!’

Charles: So, it looks like in a couple of your early drafts, or at least outlines, Kittridge returned for MI2, and there was another situation of whether or not, you didn’t know if you could trust Kittridge. Do you remember having him in your drafts? Ronald: Yeah, definitely. And there was uh, and I think he went in and out of the conversation because Tom wasn’t sure if he wanted to have the character continue in the movie franchises or not. He sometimes went ‘I love him, he’s a great character!’ and then other times he’d kinda steer away and go ‘nah, I think we should just leave that character in the first one,’ so, it kinda went in and out.  There was a lot of conversation about how to—you know, in the second movie, how much continuity was there with the first one. You know, how much was Magnificent 7 putting the team together, how much of it was just Luther, you know, how much of it was trying to pick up some of the threads of the betrayal of the first one, how much of it was just letting it go completely and making the film franchise a little bit more episodic. And it was just him, you could just see, every day he was just kind of musing out loud about the different ways you could go, and you know, what was the best route, and what was good for the audience, and what was most fun, and yeah. There was lot of that, kinda starting and stopping with those characters from the first film. Charles: But was the thought to always include Luther? Ronald: It seemed like Luther was always there. I think he really liked the character and he was in every—I think he was always in the story in some way.
