“He don’t know he a slave, and that’s my fault.” “No, that’s massa’s fault, for turnin’ us into somethin’ we ain’t supposed to be.”
It wouldn't be for much longer that we Bennet sisters lived together.
THE OTHER BENNET SISTER, Chapter 2 (2026)
Dorothy Dandridge in 1958’s Tamango. She was paid $125,000 + $500 a week for living expenses, her own hair stylist at the expense of the studio, and a chauffeured limo for the twelve weeks she spent in France making this film. At the time, Dottie was the most popular American star in Europe. In this film, Dottie played the role of an African slave who was half black and half white, who was loved by the white slave ship captain (played by Curt Jürgens). There were two versions of Tamango made because of the love scenes. One was to be released in the US, and the other was released everywhere else. This was because the Motion Picture Producers Association did not approve of any intimate or physical contact between blacks and whites.
Lizzie, you have grown up with no shortage of suitors. At home, too, you have always been... Oh, Mary, we've had largely the same upbringing. No! No.

I wonder if the real reason many fans dislike the idea of Papaa Essiedu portraying Severus Snape is because they may not like the idea of any non-white actor doing an excellent job of repeating Alan Rickman's success with such a complex role.
Even liberals can be bigots.
Ranking of "PRIDE AND PREJUDICE" Adaptations
Below is my ranking of the straightforward screen adaptations of Jane Austen's 1813 novel, "Pride and Prejudice":

A sad loss.
Sad news, Rest In Peace Angela Pleasence. 😢
I think it is time I can be honest with you all...I never really liked the idea of Violet and Marcus
For me, the core of the Bridgerton family is Edmund and Violet's love for eachother. That is why we have watched four seasons of the Bridgerton children falling in love. What Edmund and Violet had was enough that all of their children never settled for anything less than love.
I am not saying Violet didn't deserve a second-chance romance, but in the books, that is Fran's storyline.
But I do think the mentions of Young Violet in the last couple of episodes are teeing up for a spin-off! And I think it would be hard to fall in love with Marcus and Violet when we see Violet and Edmund falling in love simultaneously in the prequel.
Whatever. I see nothing wrong with Violet finding love again.
The day people will finally accept Franchaela is the day i RESTTTT cus wym ppl hate on my beautiful queens just cuz its MICHAELA AND NOT MICHAEL
this ship is ONLY for hot ppl cus yall dont get it
not my art!
You don't get it, do you? The show runner could have followed Quinn's novel, even by changing Michael to Michaela. There was no reason for her to diminish Francesca and John's romance. Francesca still could have experienced a romantic and satisfying love with both cousins, one at a time, even with the gender swap.

If course this had to be between two women of color.
Why does everyone hate Eloise?
Eloise is my favourite character in the series mainly because of how relatable she is. I always see complaints online about how she’s always complaining about marriage but she’s literally stuck in a life where all everyone does is pester her about getting married she never manages to get any peace. The society she lives in restricts her so marriage is her only choice at living a normal life, as she points out to Benedict she can’t do anything else like go to college. A lot of people complain that if she doesn’t want to get married she has to do something formidable but why? Why can’t her not wanting to marry be enough? Not everyone wants to marry especially at a young age and that should be reason enough. Eloise points out the flaws in their society ,she is a constant reminder of the misogyny and i think that makes audiences uncomfortable because they just want to watch a fairytale romance and forget about the difficulties that women face in that world.
I don't hate Eloise. I have my issues with her - namely her penchant for sneering at those who don't agree with her, along with the whole issue regarding Cressida Cowper. But I don't hate her. I hope she gets what she wants.
and if I said that it’s a good thing for violet that kate and anthony keep disappearing to fuck knows where because kate is and will be a far better lady bridgerton and is far kinder to violet’s children than violet is
Fuck that shit
